The IBO Mechanism

An IBO — Initial Box Offering — is how a sealed box first comes to market. Collectors pledge capital; shares are allocated when the offering closes.

Pledging

When you pledge, you reserve your claim on shares in the IBO — up to the boxes on offer. A pledge is not a purchase: you're only charged for the shares you end up allocated, and any remainder returns to your credits.

Oversubscription

If collectors pledge for more than the available boxes' worth, the IBO is oversubscribed — not every pledge can be filled in full. When that happens, allocation is weighted — not first-come, not random.
